“I joined the Food & Beverage (F&B) department as an F&B Host at Chessington World of Adventures Resort when I was 16, under the impression I’d have to dress up as a giant hot dog and walk around the park! But the reality has been very different. The Resort has provided me with so many training and development opportunities, from courses in customer excellence, to Managing Food Safety. This has greatly improved my confidence as a leader and was the first step into helping me to get to the level I am today.”

A real team

“Before joining, I’d heard that Chessington World of Adventures Resort was a fun and eventful place to work and, after working for a few months, I realised it had a lot to do with the staff. Everyone was so fun to be around, managers included, that I felt I was part of a cast in a show. It is a very fast-paced environment with a great team atmosphere too, and no two days are the same. After working in the high street for a short period, I found myself eager to come back to the Resort to experience so many unplanned twists to my working day.” 

Happy days

“My best ever day at Chessington Resort was during Halloween 2010. It’s a great time anyway because of the spooky atmosphere, but this specific day was the busiest for 10 years! The determination of my team despite being short-staffed was amazing, and we hit an all-time best in terms of targets and results. I had never been more proud of myself and my team.”
